Claret is an independent wine shop on Pakington Street in Newtown, Geelong. Our shelves are filled with bottles we like, drink and genuinely believe are worth sharing, from local favourites and Australian producers to wines from across Europe and further afield.
Some are made for an ordinary Tuesday. Others deserve a place at the centre of the table. There are bottles to open now, bottles to put away and plenty that make excellent gifts.

Our Geelong selection includes established names and smaller producers from across the Moorabool Valley, Bellarine Peninsula and Surf Coast. Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Shiraz might be the regional calling cards, but there is plenty more to discover.
Alongside local wine, you will find bottles from across Australia, Europe and the wider wine world. The range changes as new releases arrive, allocations land and particularly good things catch our attention.

Alongside our wine selection, you will find beer, spirits, cheese, charcuterie, olives, giftware, hampers and Claret merchandise. Our cheese and cured meats are available to purchase from the shop, including many of the same things served next door at the wine bar.
Come in for a bottle and leave with everything required for drinks and snacks at home. A very efficient little outing.

Once the shopping is done, you can settle into the Claret bar for wine by the glass, cocktails, draught beer and something good to eat. The bar list changes every week, and from time to time you may find bottles from the shop open and pouring.
