Claret is a relaxed neighbourhood wine bar on Pakington Street in Newtown, Geelong. Inspired by the easy conviviality of European wine bars, it is a place to settle in, try something new and enjoy a very good glass of wine without any unnecessary theatre.
Communal seating, kerbside tables and intimate corners give you plenty of ways to make yourself comfortable. Come for a quick glass, stay for snacks, or let one bottle lead to another. We are a walk-in-only venue, keeping things spontaneous, welcoming and wonderfully easy.

Our bar menu includes a thoughtful selection of cheese, charcuterie, olives and fresh bread from Funk on Shannon Avenue. The food is simple, delicious and chosen to sit very happily alongside whatever is in your glass.
Found a cheese or cured meat you particularly loved? Our cheese and charcuterie are also available to purchase from the retail shop and take home.
