THE CLARET PARTY CALCULATOR
HOW MUCH TO DRINK? WE MEAN, HOW MUCH TO BUY.
Tell us about the party and we'll work out the wine, beer, cocktails and all-important mix. An invitation wouldn't go astray either...
YOUR PARTY DRINKS PLAN
YOUR SHOPPING LIST
We've done the maths and allowed a little breathing room. Here's what we'd recommend having on hand.
Non-alc drinks are a starting allowance for drivers and non-drinkers. Keep water and alcohol-free options available for everyone.
YOUR SUGGESTED WINE MIX
A handy guide for planning, not a drinking target. Drink sizes and strength vary, and these estimates aren't a measure of Australian standard drinks. Keep the water flowing, food coming and plenty of non-alcoholic options on hand too. Beer counts are individual cans or bottles; cocktail counts are serves, not premixed cans or bottles.

How does the calculator work?
A little planning goes a long way, especially when there's wine involved.
Tell us how many guests are coming, how long the party's going for and how many won't be drinking alcohol. Then choose what's on the drinks menu: wine, beer, cocktails or a little bit of everything.
We work on roughly five glasses per bottle of wine, allowing for a slightly more enthusiastic first hour before things settle into a rhythm. If beer's on the menu, we account for guests who might start with a beer before moving onto wine. Cocktails are treated as a welcome drink or two, rather than an all-night affair. From there, we'll work out your suggested shopping list, allow a little breathing room and, if you're serving wine, split the bottles between your chosen styles.
And yes, we'll happily make room for bubbles. Because bubbles, always.
Need help choosing the actual bottles?
Knowing that you need 20 bottles is one thing. Deciding which 20 bottles deserve an invitation is another.
